IN 1953 THE WORDING ON THE REAR BECAME COAST LIFE SAVING CORPS. IT WAS CHANGED BY ROYAL WARRANT IN JULY 1966 TO THE COASTGUARD AUXILIARY SERVICE LONG SERVICE MEDAL.
THE SERVICE CHANGED NAME IN 2006 TO THE COASTGUARD RESCUE SERVICE, ALTHOUGH THE WORDING ON THE REAR OF THE MEDAL REMAINED THE SAME.
THIS IS THE PRE 2012 VERSION, MAINTAINING THE WORDING "FOR LONG SERVICE WITH THE COASTGUARD AUXILIARY SERVICE"
IN 2012 THE ROYAL WARRANT WAS AMENDED AND THE MEDAL WAS RENAMED H.M. COASTGUARD LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL AS ELIGIBILITY WAS EXTENDED TO INCLUDE 'REGULAR' COASTGUARD OFFICERS. THE RE-NAMED MEDAL INCLUDES A MODIFIED REVERSE AND A NEW RIBBON.
