Product Description

Instituted by the Sultan of Turkey to reward the troops of the three Allies who fought in the Crimea.

Three different medals were produced, one for each of the Allied countries, and have the appropriate countries flag to the right of the Turkish flag and the appropriate inscription CRIMEA for the British, LA CRIMEE for the French and LA CRIMEA for the Sardinians.

Owing to a large quantity of the British medals being lost as sea, the medals were distributed hapazardly across the allies.

This version is the Sardinian issue.
